Have been away.....

I am so sorry that I haven't posted in so long.  I have been so very busy with the kids, my older daughters chemo, and school work.  We went on an unplanned, but long-overdue mini-vacation to NH and it was so fabulous for us. I have been DYING to make cards, but unfortunately I haven't had the time.  Today I dedicated an hour to sorting through the retiring stuff and moving it away from the current and trying to make at least one card to get my fix.  I will try to be better in the coming days : ))

Goodbye to 'Of the Earth'

I think I've said this before, when I first saw this set I didn't think much of it.  But, after perusing SCS, I thought very different and have made some nice cards from it.  I now have to say goodbye, since it retires tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure I'll still continue to use it for my card show cards or personal use.
I used the awesome combo of Elegant Eggplant and Old Olive with a touch of Very Vanilla.  Hope you like it!

Best Friends

This card was inspired by my best friend, Naomi.  I felt like a bad friend today because I was unable to come through for her on something that she needed me for, and I wanted to make her a card to tell her how sorry I was that I couldn't help her, when she is constantly helping me.  I CASED the idea from here and obviously changed quite a few things.  I love the Garden Whimsy stamp set and I never get to use it.  It came in handy for what I was wanting it to convey. I used the Island Oasis DSP and the associated colors of Tempting Turquoise, Rose Red, Pumpikin Pie, and Old Olive.  I hope you like it.

Graduation

These are 3 Graduation cards that I just made for my triplet cousins who are graduating from the 8th grade this coming week.  I didn't have any good 'Graduation' stamps so I went with the Congratulations stamp from Fun and Fast Notes.  I used dimmensionals to make the star "pop" and give the card a variation from the norm.  I hope you like them.

Thank You

This idea came from Kerin Manghini (one of my favorite card makers).  It uses the two-step stampin technique with the Greenhouse Garden set.  The card doesn't necessarily have to be a 'Thank You' card.  I made 10 for my daughter's oncology doctor and I didn't use any salutation, since she just wanted plain cards she could send for any occasion.  Hope you like it : )

Birthday Cottage Wall

This color layout was CASED from Jodie Olver on Stampin Connection.  I loved her use of DSP so I made mine into a birthday card.  The Birthday Bliss stamp set is so small, just perfect to fit inside the square punch.  I think almost every card I've made lately I've finished the inside of the card.  It just makes it look more complete and easier to write on.  Hope you like it!
Stamp Sets: Birthday Bliss (115442) All Holidays (114916) Paper: Rich Razzleberry (115316), Whisper White (100730), Cottage Wall DSP (115671) Ink: Rich Razzleberry (115658) Orchid Opulence (101859) Accessories/Tools: Square Punch (103375)

Baby Boy

I ordered Tempting Turquoise ink and finally got it in, so I was playing around with my Island Oasis DSP and new ink.  The stamp set is I'm Here which is retired.  The card came out simple but cute for a new baby boy.

Father's Day

This is the Father's Day card I made for my dad.  He has a few Harley's, so I thought this motorcycle stamp would be perfect for him.  I hope he likes it.
Stamp Sets: Motorcycle (117657) All Year Cheer II (retired) Paper: Sahara Sand (105328), Basic Black (102851), Very Vanilla (101650) Ink: Basic Black (101179), Pumpkin Pie (105216) Accessories/Tools: Very Vanilla Ribbon (109071)

Mother's Day Card

This is the card I made for my Mom for Mother's Day.  The idea came from the 09-10 IB&C. I just changed a few minor things.  Originally I was using this card for the two-step in my stamp class, but no one signed up, so I went ahead with this for my mom.  I found the two-step stampin harder than I thought it would be, but I'm finally getting the hang of it.
Stamp Sets: Greenhouse Garden (113824) All Holidays (114916) Paper: Rich Razzleberry (115316), Old Olive (100702), Whisper White (100730),  Razzleberry Lemonade DSP (115675) Accessories/Tools: The Tearing Edge (102930), Chocolate Chip Ribbon (109065)

Baby Shower

Hi everyone!  Brian's cousin Charlotte is expecting her first baby and the shower is this coming weekend.  I made this card to go with our gift.  The stamps and wheel are retired (I don't have the name of the wheel), but I thought I would post it anyways.  I used the Cottage Wall DSP along with matching colors with the DSP.  My ink was Rich Razzleberry as was the bottom layer of paper.  Hope you like it : ))

Short and Sweet

In the 09-10 Catalog, they show this notecard with Soft Suede DSP.  I wanted to spice it up a bit so I used Razzleberry Lemonade DSP and paper instead. I think the pre-done plain cards are a great idea, ecspecially when you need a card fast. I really like how it came out.
Stamps: Thank You Kindly (111700) Paper: Elegant Notes (116450), Razzleberry Lemonade DSP (115675), Rich Razzleberry (115316), Very Vanilla (101650) Accessories/Tools: Very Vanilla Ribbon (109071), The Tearing Edge (102930)

Happy Birthday Card

I'm sorry it's been so long since I've posted anything new.  I'm in a bit of a computer funk (it may be called laziness) where I don't feel like even logging on.  My oldest daughter went in for chemo this weekend and I never even brought my laptop (which is typically unheard of).
Anyways.....I absolutely love this card and have been dying to share it but I had others I finished before this one that I wanted to post first.  So, I hope you all like it.  I've been searching for a fun birthday card that I can use for just about anyone and I think I got it right with this one.  I'm not sure where I saw the color combo for the paper, but I'm pretty sure it was on SU! Gallery (sorry I didn't save the site).

Cottage Wall 'A Note of Thanks'

I am so glad that I chose this hostest set from the catalog.  It didn't do much for me to see it as a stamp, but once I started doing some searching to see how other people used it, I was really impressed.  I'm sad that it's going to be retired next month and I won't be able to demo it.  But, I will still use it for the cards that I'm going to sell at craft shows. I liked the layout of this card so I CASED it and switched it up a bit.

Tropical Party

This is a fun card that I cased some of from SCS.  I changed some of the paper layout and the saying. I also finished off the inside of this one.  It can be used as just about any kind of card.  I'm thinking that if I do use it I may stamp 'Happy Birthday' on the inside for something to truly finish it off. I am, again, amazed with how versatile this stamp set is.
