Stampin Royalty 137

This was my take on the wonderful sketch challenge by the ladies at Stampin Royalty. These ladies really have some of the best challenges around.  I love looking to their samples for inspiration.  This card started out being Midnight Muse on VV card stock, but I decided to switch the two so that the colors wouldn't overlap.  I used our 2012-2013 DSP, Comfort Cafe.  When I saw the Paper Piercing packs, I knew I had to get them.  I just tried them out for the first time with this card.  You can't make out the piercing on the saying, but if you look close enough, you may be able to see it on the edgelit.  I hope you like my take on this sketch! Thanks for visiting!!

SSC 259 Kid Birthday

I totally missed the deadline for this sketch, but I figured I'd post it anyway because it took me FOREVER to come up with this card.  I don't know why I struggled so much (I think it had more to do with the colors I chose than the actual sketch itself).  I have very few kids birthday cards, and I think it's time to stock up since my girls have been invited to quite a few birthday parties recently.  I like the way this ended up but I think I would use different colors next time.  I hope you like it!

SSSC160 Get Well

My mother had asked for a few Get Well cards and since I just recieved my new Thoughts & Prayers stamp set, I figured I'd put it to good use.  I saw the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and used it as my template for the card.  I'm not very fond of the way the color combo and DSP came out so I'm contemplating making a new card, but for now, we'll see if she likes it.

Doctorate Graduation

Here is another graduation card that I made for my younger cousin's graduation. My aunt had ordered a card from me and all I had for a stamp was the Go up in the Direction of Your Dreams that had been pre-stamped from a wish list swap. I love the silver glimmer paper and I used it again for this card. I hope you like it!!!

Mother's Day Card a Little Late

Here is the Mother's Day card I made for my aunt. She has always been a second mother to me, and I wanted to let her know how much I appreciate all she does for me. There have been a million times that she will take the girls so I can go to a dr apt or school meetings, etc. She's a single mother of triplets, all on the honor roll in high school. To me, she's one of The Best moms out there.
This card is a center step card, which is super easy to make. I used my scallop trim border on the edges to make the card a bit more fancy. The DSP is SU!'s sneak peak from the 2012-2013 catalog, Floral District. I'm in love with this DSP!!! I hope you like the card.

Happy Mother's Day

This is my second try at a cascading card. I had seen one on Pinterest and thought it would be The perfect design for a Mother's Day Card. I used my new Floral District DSP that I ordered from the new catalog sneak peak. I love Rich Razzleberry and Lucky Limeade so it was a perfect combo for the card. I added the beautiful wing embosslits for some pop on the card. I hope you like it!

Summer Smooches Thank You

On Saturday we had my beautiful daughter Sofia's 1st birthday party.  30 of our wonderful relatives joined us in celebrating.  Above is the Thank You card I whipped up to thank everyone for the amazing gifts they gave her.  Below that is a picture of my four girls getting ready to help Sofia blow out the candles on her birthday cupcakes.  She had so much fun with all of her cousins.  I hope you like the card!

Sweet Sunday Graduation Card

Happy Wednesday! Today's a busy day in our house.  All three girls have school, the two middles have swim lessons, and then Taryn has T Ball practice.  Not sure how everything is going to get accomplished, but I'll give it my best : )).  This card is for a nursing grad that has worked for my mom at her college for the last two years.  She's a wonderful, sweet girl who my mother wanted a special card for.  I loved the Sweet Sunday sketch so I taylored the card around the sketch.  The dark blue and white are UCONN's colors, and I think it fit the card perfectly.  I hope you like it!

Mixed Bunch of Colors

Here is this week's sketch from Try Stampin on Tuesday and the Create with Connie and Mary color challenge. I absolutely love this color combo.  Mixed Bunch just came in my last SU order, so I decided to use that as my center of the card.  I missed the deadline for CCMC but there is still time to enter TSOT with this awesome sketch! I hope you like it!

Sympathy SSC 251

I know this sketch was from a couple weeks ago, but I keep forgetting to post it to my blog.  My mom had asked for a few sympathy cards for her stockpile and I've been putting it off to make other things that are more up-beat.  I found the sketch on the Stamping 411 blog.  They have such clean sketches, and I thought this would be perfect for a sympathy themed card.  I used Wild Wasabi and Soft Suede for my colors.  I hope you like it!

Try Stampin on Tuesday #61

Good Sunday Morning!! The sketch from Try Stampin on Tuesday got my interest this week so I gave it a go for a Birthday card I needed to make for my Dad.  I used my small frame emboslit folder to frame around the cupcake.  I'm going to need to use these more often, because they really give the card some extra dimmension.  The glitter inside the cupcake gave it a much-needed finishing touch.  I hope you like it!

A La Card Monkey Cupcake

I had this post scheduled for Saturday morning and for some odd reason it posted as a blank post.  I'm sorry if this caused any confusion.  I was picked on A La Card Monkey to be a guest designer as my card was picked as a Princess Card the previous week.  It's my second time being picked and I am so honored and thankful.  It's such a fun blog, always with so many great challenges! I hope you'll hop on over to their blog and give this wonderful sketch a try! Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

The Friday Mashup #53!

The Friday Mashup is one of my favorite challenge blogs.  They come up with such different ideas for cards. For me, it really gets my wheels turning.  This particular challenge, Tic Tac Toe Challenge #53,  was so much fun.  I chose a side step card, baby theme, ribbons, and brights.  I used Daffodil Delight as my bright.  I know it's kind of a boring color alone, but I wanted to have a card that could be for a boy or a girl.  My neutral is Whisper White and I used a tiny bit of Real Red marker in the T and the rattle.  Hop on over to their blog and check out the other amazing submissions!

Easter Double Challenge

As usual, it's been forever since I've posted.  I've been working on some various projects for my Secret Sister through Stampin Up and it's been hard to post any of them for fear that she'll see one of these posts and then I won't be so "secret" any more.  This is a double challenge I wanted to try out.  I love the Easter colors from the Color Q and I love the sketch challenge from A La Card Monkey.  So, here they are together!! I know that the Easter Blossom stamp set is retired, but I just love it and had to use it here.  I hope you like it!

Valentine for Try Stampin' on Tuesday

I just recently came across this blog Try Stampin' on Tuesday and I absolutely love it! The sketches are wonderful, and I'm having a great time creating new cards.  I've been dying to make a Valentine's Day card, and I've even debated making Taryn's cards for her Kindergarten class, but instead I made a card for my husband. We don't typically exchange cards on Valentine's Day. This year I decided to use the rub-ons I received from SU last year, and this is how it came out.  I hope you (and my husband) like it!

Baby Bundle in Pink & Blue

Happy New Year! I have been terrible with posting in the last few months.  Between Christmas Card orders and the kids and their various activities, I just haven't had the time.
I have been dying to try a few new sketches and this particular sketch on Splitcoast Stampers caught my eye.
I've been needing some baby cards for my Etsy shop, as I'm trying to build it slowly, and I thought this sketch was perfect for it.  I made one card in Pink and the other in Blue so that customers could see the options.  My paper was the Subtle DSP along with Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Marina Mist, and Bashful Blue. This card is the first time I've been able to use the Baby Bundle stamp set and I love it! So adorable! I hope  you like them!
